The Titans Atlanteans: balance settlements and heroes
By AoM Guides · titans
Grow a safe Citizen economy, sustain favor through Town Centers, and promote the units that answer enemy myth threats.
Three systems have to agree
In The Titans, Atlantean economic growth, Town Center ownership, and selective hero promotion need to support one another. A settlement can improve the long-term position, but its cost and defense matter immediately. An upgraded hero can answer a monster, but the same resources are then unavailable for ordinary troops or expansion.
Sustain favor through Town Centers
In The Titans, Town Centers generate Atlantean favor. Oracles scout with vision that develops while they stand still. Use them to watch the resource routes your army and Citizens need next.
A new settlement supports worker production, population, and favor income, but needs protection while the investment pays back. Build enough army to hold its resource routes before adding more exposed commitments.
Move Citizens with a military plan
Citizens gather without conventional dropsites, which makes the economy compact to manage but does not make each move safe. Locate the next gold and food early. Scout their approaches and send enough cover to prevent a small raid from forcing the whole group to retreat.
Do not scatter valuable workers across several contested resources while the army can defend only one. A temporary safer allocation can be better than an ideal distribution that loses units. Restore efficient gathering as soon as the immediate threat passes, keeping economic production and population space active.
Mix main-line troops and specialists
Use the main Barracks for a stable formation and the Counter Barracks for the opposing roles that justify a specialized answer. Read what the enemy force actually contains, including support behind its front line. Continuing to mass the first counter after the enemy changes composition can produce a brittle army.
Keep the formation together through movement. A fast specialist arriving ahead of the screen may be surrounded before the main force contributes. If the opponent retreats into defensive fire, take useful space and prepare the next move rather than feeding units through a narrow entrance.
Promote the units that solve the problem
When enemy myth units are important, promote an appropriate set of troops with useful target access. A ranged or mobile hero may reach a particular threat differently from a melee hero trapped behind screening units. Preserve enough ordinary army to fight the human escort.
Avoid making every soldier a hero automatically. Promotion is a resource commitment whose value depends on the enemy army and the fight you intend to take. Equally, do not wait until a monster has already broken the formation before considering whether the needed heroes can reach the front in time.
Use Oranos’s mobility to protect the investment
Sky Passages can connect resource defense and military rotations. Place exits where the destination remains safe enough to use, and inspect enemy movement before committing the whole force through one route. A network supports a compact army; it should not encourage so many independent positions that each can be overwhelmed separately.
In the replay, review the first new settlement alongside hero spending and army size. Did those purchases form a coherent plan, or did they compete until none was sufficient? Improve that balance before pursuing a faster expansion or larger early promoted army.
